My Life With the Walter Boys confirms major casting news for season two - and it could be released sooner than you think

The Netflix series, My Life With the Walter Boys, is set to introduce five new characters to Silver Falls, Colorado when it returns.

The teen drama set in a small town became a huge success for the streaming platform when it premiered last December, with millions of fans eagerly anticipating the next instalment in Jackie Howard's (played by Nikki Rodriguez) journey.

Jackie's narrative begins with the tragic loss of her parents in a car accident, leading her to relocate to Silver Falls, Colorado. Here, she is welcomed by the Walters, a family comprising seven sons and one daughter.

She quickly becomes embroiled in a love triangle involving two of the brothers, ex-quarterback Cole (Noah LaLonde) and geeky Alex (Ashby Gentry).

The first season ended on a cliffhanger, with Jackie moving back to New York after sharing a passionate kiss with Cole, reports the Mirror.

While details for the second season remain confidential, it's speculated that Jackie will return to Silver Falls for more escapades with the Walters.

More announcements are expected soon, as TVLine has confirmed that filming for the sequel season has been completed.

Season two will see Natalie Sharp, known for The Flash, join the cast as B. Hartford, "a champion rodeo rider who catches the eye of one of the Walter boys".

Carson MacCormac (Locke and Key) will also be joining as Zach, "a commanding and a bit dangerous senior who attempts to get to know Nathan (Corey Fogelmanis)", along with Jake Manley (The Order) who will play "Wylder Holt, a competitive bronc rider who crosses paths with Alex".

The cast of My Life With the Walter Boys continues to expand with Janet Kidder from Star Trek: Discovery, who will play Joanne Wagner, the mother of Grace, and Riele Downs from Bel Air, taking on the role of Maria, described as a "flirty girl" in Alex's driving class.

Although a release date for the second season has not been announced, with filming recently wrapped up, fans can anticipate the show's return sometime in the first half of 2025.

Nikki, the lead actress, has hinted at the storyline for the upcoming season, suggesting that Jackie will eventually find her way back to the Walters. In an interview with Teen Vogue earlier this year, she pondered the circumstances that might bring Jackie back to Colorado.

"Obviously Jackie would have to come back to Colorado but what makes her come back?" Nikki mused. "I don't even know. I've thought about so many different options."

The question remains whether Jackie's return will be prompted by another tragedy forcing her to leave New York or if the allure of Cole and Silver Falls will prove too great to resist.
