This Morning viewers were seriously impressed by Elkie Brooks' youthful appearance on Wednesday's episode.

Cat Deeley and Dermot O'Leary chatted with the Queen of British Blues, aged 79, as she talked about her upcoming UK tour during the show.

Discussing how she maintains her youthfulness, Elkie explained that she relies on quality creams, a healthy diet, and regular exercise, highlighting Aikido, a form of martial arts, as a key component of her routine. Astonishingly, the singer disclosed that she has been practising martial arts for decades, earning her first black belt at the age of 50, which left Cat and Dermot visibly impressed.

Following the engaging chat, Elkie showcased her talents with a live rendition of Sunshine After the Rain to the delight of the This Morning audience. Viewers couldn't help but express their admiration for Elkie's age-defying looks and her impressive performance later in the programme over Twitter.

Now, as she approaches her 80th birthday in February, she's remembered for her smash hit Pearl's A Singer, which propelled her into the spotlight in 1977, almost two decades after her initial professional performance.

Elkie is currently embarking on her Long Farewell Tour. Despite the tour name, she told the Express: "I'm not stopping, the clue is in the title long farewell tour," and added, "I'll judge it on my fitness level as I go along. I don't want to disappoint those who remember me from years ago."

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
