John Torode's wife breaks silence following Gregg Wallace scandal

John Torode's wife Lisa Faulkner has returned to social media this week with an emotional post - though she's still remaining silent on the Gregg Wallace controversy.

The pair have so far yet to comment publicly on the allegations of inappropriate behaviour facing Torode's former co-presenter, amid calls for the current series of MasterChef: The Professionals to be taken off air.

But Lisa, 52, now taken to Instagram with an emotional post, the Mirror reported. Sharing a picture of her late 'Nanna', alongside her sister, Victoria, the actress wrote: "Happy heavenly birthday Nanna, miss you so much."

The news broke last week that the BBC were investigating allegations of inappropriate sexual remarks and jokes by 13 women over a 17 year period. Wallace stepped aside from MasterChef, but continues to strongly deny the allegations, via a statement from his legal team.

Those close to Wallace have claimed that he was deeply upset that John, 59, has remained tight-lipped throughout. He has now unfollowed his co-presenter of twenty years - as well as his wife - on social media.

It comes after Wallace issued an Instagram apology for suggesting the allegations against him came from "a handful of middle-class women of a certain age".

He said: "It's obvious to me I need to take some time out while this investigation is under way. I hope you understand and I do hope that you will accept this apology."

And yesterday (December 3) the BBC have published fresh allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour, after three more women have come forward. Wallace has not yet responded to these.

He had previously been re-posting many messages of support he had from former Masterchef contestants on his Instagram story, but now appears to have gone quiet on his social media.
