ITV I'm A Celebrity's Alan Halsall given 'little tricks' by Coronation Street co-star for 'easy life' in jungle
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsAlan Halsall was given some 'little tricks' from his Coronation Street co-star in order to have an 'easy life' while taking part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.
The actor, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, is now among the many Corrie stars to head Down Under and take part in the ITV reality show in which a bunch of celebrities swaps their luxurious lives for the basics of a camp in the jungle, having to win food through tough trials.
Alan's stint Down Under is actually a year late as Alan, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, was due to take part in I'm A Celeb's 2023 series before he had to undergo surgery. An ACL injury put him out of action and into regular rehab to recover.

Alan recently said: "It was a bit of a shock when I got the knee injury last year and whilst I am signed off surgically, I still had several months of physio ahead of me. But a top football professional like Rodri, for example, would take about a year to get back to playing football (after something like I’ve had) and he has the best medical staff in the world. So for your average Joe like me it is going to take longer."
But he's since been seen settling into jungle life and winning much support from viewers. Now, Alan's Corrie co-star Sair Khan has revealed that she spoke to him before he headed for Australia.
In an interview with The Sun's TV Mag, Alya Nazir actress Sair revealed: "I've definitely been on the phone to Alan, telling him my little tricks and tips if he wants an easy life… I said to him, for the jobs, if you’ve got a choice, pick the dunny because you only have to empty that toilet once a day!

"The other jobs, they take longer, with the washing up you have to go all the way down the steps to the water, do the manual labour of the cleaning and then you have to cart everything back up which takes ages. With the dunny, you’re in, you’re out.
Sair, who took part in I'm A Celeb back in 2016, continued: "Also, it’s so boring in there. You see the highlights for an hour of 24 hours in a day so other people wouldn’t want to do that, they’d want to keep busy, so they might not pick that. If you’re not doing a trial, you’re sat around most of the day. I don’t think Alan will have a problem, he loves to sit around!"
