Emmerdale Stephanie's real mum 'exposed' in huge Tate DNA twist - and it's not Ruby

by · Manchester Evening News

Emmerdale fans have been left speculating about the 'true' identity of Stephanie Miligan's mother, with many convinced it's not Ruby, as initially claimed.

The newcomer, played by Georgia Jay, made a dramatic entrance last week, revealing herself as the estranged daughter of Caleb (William Ash) and Ruby (Beth Cordingly). However, viewers are now theorizing that a DNA twist could be on the horizon, suggesting Ruby may not be Stephanie's biological mother.

As the storyline unfolds, Stephanie's arrival in the village has already sparked tension, particularly with her demands for her inheritance from her late grandmother Helen. The confrontation between Stephanie and Ruby is set to escalate, with Ruby's violent outburst hinting at a deeper, more complex history between the two.

Fans have taken to social media to share their theories, with some proposing that soap legend Kim Tate (Claire King) could be Stephanie's real mother. One fan commented on an Emmerdale Facebook page, "Great casting for Caleb and Ruby's daughter," but others were quick to suggest an alternative.

One fan speculated, "I'm saying it now Kim Tate is her real mother! " Another fan agreed, noting the physical resemblance between Stephanie and Kim, as well as their similar ruthless behavior. A third fan chimed in, "I would love this. Anything is possible! " The theory has sparked excitement among fans, who are eagerly awaiting the next development in the storyline, reports Leeds Live.

Discussing her role, Georgia previously shed light on the dramatic return of her character Steph, hinting at a tense family dynamic: "She comes back into the village, I think it has been a decade or so, and there's some conflict between mum Ruby and Caleb."

Georgia was careful not to divulge too much but teased an intriguing plot: "I can't say too much about it, but it is an exciting storyline to be coming into, the past will be revealed of why she hasn't been in the picture for so long."

She further hinted at Steph's intentions upon reuniting with her parents: "I can say when she sees dad and mum for the first time, she's not there to stay - it's more 'I want something then I'm going to leave'. She wants nothing to do with [it], and just wants to get the money and go."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
