It's Always Sunny star's underrated sitcom 'cancelled too soon' now streaming for free

A beloved sitcom among comedy enthusiasts has just landed on a major streaming platform in its entirety, making it an ideal weekend binge-watching treat.

Collider describes the series as "a hilarious series that provides plenty of laughs, courtesy of its impeccable writing and wildly funny cast."

Meanwhile, The Guardian praised its third season, saying: "[It's] zippy in the way that 30 Rock is zippy, and there is rarely a scene or a line that doesn't at least reach for a laugh."

Starring Glenn Howerton, known for his role in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, this series could fill the void for viewers who recently enjoyed the new FX sitcom English Teacher on Disney+.

The show in question is AP Bio, where Howerton plays Jack Griffin, a disgraced Harvard professor who finds himself teaching advanced placement biology in his hometown, reports the Mirror.

However, instead of teaching biology, he uses his class to concoct a revenge plan against his rival, Miles Leonard (played by Tom Bennett), who landed the job Jack had his sights on.

The series had a tumultuous run, initially airing on NBC for two seasons before being cancelled, only to be revived by Peacock for another two years before its eventual cancellation in 2021.

At the time, fans were disheartened by the show's conclusion, especially given the unresolved plot threads left dangling at the end of the fourth season.

One fan expressed their disappointment on Reddit, stating: "Season four went absolutely off the rails and catered more to the specific actors and their strengths with the characters."

"I really enjoyed it a lot. The cult episode was insane in the best possible way. I'll miss the show," one viewer expressed.

Another responded, "Yeah that's why despite being grateful it got an additional two seasons, I'm still a tad gutted they'll be no more. Would have loved to see what levels of insanity they reached next."

"Hot take apparently but seasons 3-4 were the best imo," a third fan chimed in. "Some eps felt like those crazy Community episodes. The fanfic one from season four was brilliant! Sad to see it go."

"Ah that's a shame," another person lamented upon hearing about AP Bio's cancellation.

"I only started watching it relatively recently and had fun with it, felt like it was becoming a lot more confident in season four."

"Damn wish we knew so we could have had some closure ending," another viewer commented.

One fan even proposed, "They better make a spinoff about Heather (Allisyn Snyder) going to college."

"I'm not emotionally prepared to say goodbye to Heather," another agreed.

Regrettably, there are no current plans for an AP Bio season five or spin-off. However, Howerton continues to shine alongside Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

AP Bio is available to stream on Netflix.
