Joe Sugg has been issued a demand by fans after he watched his girlfriend Dianne Buswell wil Strictly Come Dancing, six years after they made the final together on the show.

Dianne was shedding tears of joy on Saturday night (December 14) as she and her celebrity dance partner Chris McCausland were named the winners of the BBC One dance contest's 2024 series.

They were seen beating Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the famous Glitterball trophy during the last live show of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series.

Upon being crowned winner, Chris was clearly stunned as he covered his mouth with his hand while Dianne squealed before they both broke into tears as they realised they won the competition. It also marks the first win for Dianne, who has made it to the final with social media star Joe Sugg in 2018, and Eastenders actor and model Bobby Brazier in 2023.

After being announced as the 2024 series winner, Chris, 47, said: "This is for her (Dianne) and it’s for everyone out there that thought and got told they couldn’t do something. It just shows with opportunity and support and determination, anything can happen.”

He also thanked Australian dancer Dianne, 36, saying: "She deserves this so much. She’s just honestly one of the easiest people to be funny with – and unless she changes her number, she’s stuck with me."

Joe, who met Dianne on Strictly when they were paired together in 2018, was in the audience with his girlfriend's parents, Mark and Rina, after they made it over from Australia last month to see their daughter perform live in the Strictly ballroom for the first time in her seven years on the show.

Joe has since revealed he gave Dianne a huge welcome home as he made a welcome sign for his girlfriend that celebrated her as the 2024 winner with discoball balloons also spotted filling their grand hallway. He shared images on Instagram that showed Dianne beaming with joy as she held her own Glitterball trophy aloft at home as well as a picture of himself with her and Chris in the Strictly ballroom.

In a sweet tribute, he wrote alongside the images: "There are no words to describe how proud I am of you both @diannebuswell @chrismccauslandcomedy, Last night was an absolute movie. You made us laugh, you made us cry and you proved to the world that you are good enough and you can achieve anything the doubters say you can’t and more."

He went on: "Chris I thank you for making this year so special for Dianne and I could not be happier that you’re the partner she finally lifted the glitterball with."

Using Dianne's family nickname, Joe added: "Dot, it’s been a long winding, road full of ups and downs for 7 years but you have shown pure determination & dedication and you finally got there in the best way possible and everyone has been able to see how amazing you are and what an incredible teacher you are this year. You are both inspirations and have the nations hearts on behalf of everyone, thank you."

It comes after fans rushed to make a demand of Joe following Dianne's success in the ballroom. @sarahlawson84 said: "Joe is deffo going to propose now right?? No pressure Mr Sugg! #Strictly." @winterduck04 added: "JOE SUGG YOU’D BETTER PROPOSE RIGHT BLOODY NOW #Strictly."
