BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'sobbing' as Dianne Buswell and her dad break into tears after 'break' in show

Strictly Come Dancing fans said they were 'sobbing' before Dianne Buswell even stepped on the dance floor as Tess Daly briefly halted the show for a special reason.

It's not very often the dance show's co-host talks to the audience but she made an exception as Dianne's parents Rina and Mark were in the audience to watch their daughter perform live in the ballroom for the first time since she joined the BBC One dance contest seven years ago.

The couple have jetted over from Australia to see their daughter perform with her celebrity dance partner Chris McCausland after the dancing couple set a 'goal' of making it through to week ten of the competition so Dianne's dream moment could come to life.

Ahead of their performance, Tess headed over to welcome Rina and Mark into the ballroom, telling them they already felt like family having heard about them from Dianne throughout this series and those in the past.

She then let Mark do the honours of introducing Dianne and Chris to the floor with their Paso Doble to El Gato Montes by Manuel Panella. But in the VT, fans were left emotional as Dianne broke down into tears as her mum and dad discussed being able to make the trip to the UK after they faced a tough time with Mark's health.

They then performed their routine to mixed reviews from the judges, landing a them a score of 33 out of a possible 40. But their were more emotional scenes as Mark ended up in tears and was seen embracing his wife as they watched their little girl dance with absolute pride.
