This Morning viewers fume 'move on' as 'big announcement' leaves them underwhelmed
by Phoebe Jobling · Manchester Evening NewsThis Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary left fans disappointed after revealing they had 'big news' to share on Friday's show (November 1).
Alison and Dermot were presenting Friday's instalment of the ITV show, and were bubbling with excitement as they announced the return of a game segment which has been absent from the programme.
Turning to Dermot, Alison, 49, said: "Now, Dermot, we have got some serious, big news." There was then a suspenseful drum roll in the studio, as Dermot revealed: "We all know you've been missing it, so Spin to Win is back."

Dermot then added: "To be fair, I thought it was going to be a huge [Cymbol sound effect] before I was supposed to say it."
Alison then explained with enthusiasm: "We're so excited! Entries for Monday's game are now open. Get involved. Everyone's been waiting for it. I don't know if you've seen all the comments online, but everyone has been waiting for Spin to Win."
However, not all viewers shared the same passion for its return, with many expressing their disappointment on social media. A Twitter user commented dismissively: "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! ! ! Spin to Win is back on Monday! Move on, we don't need that segment now."
Another viewer, laced with sarcasm, remarked: "At least with Coin Drop, people were competent enough to answer their phones without saying some silly passphrase. And they didn't need to answer a stupid question about which guest made an appearance earlier on the show.", reports the Express.

"Bring us coin drop, not spin to win," expressed another, clearly disappointed. Another person said: "I'm sorry, they're bringing back Spin to Win?!". A third unimpressed Twitter user noted: "So that was the announcement...We already knew when they had the blurred photo earlier."
The much-loved game gives one lucky viewer the chance to win a substantial amount of money just by answering with the passphrase, which is disclosed upon entering the competition via the This Morning app. With a starting prize of £750, contestants have the opportunity to win up to £1,000 – and it's completely free to participate.
Spin to Win last graced the studio in February before the show took a break from the popular segment. In its stead, Coin Drop burst onto the scene in June, tempting viewers with the prospect of winning an eye-watering £20,000.
Whether Coin Drop will be pushed aside for the return of Spin to Win is still uncertain. The eagerly anticipated comeback of Spin to Win coincides neatly with the return of regular hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley following their short hiatus.
The pair had taken a week off in line with half-term, leaving Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary to step in as hosts.
