BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Janette Manrara speaks out on Aljaz Skorjanec final loss as she says 'let's go home'

by · Manchester Evening News

Janette Manrara has spoken out with pride after her husband Aljaz Skorjanec competed in the final of Strictly Come Dancing. The presenter and dancer was in the audience to support her man as well as the other finalists.

Janette, who is the host of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, watched as Aljaz took to the ballroom floor for the last time with his celebrity dance partner Tasha Ghouri.

But it was comedian Chris McCausland, who made history as Strictly's first blind winner, and dancer Dianne Buswell who beat Tasha and Aljaz, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the famous Glitterball trophy.

Following the final, Janette, who shares one-year-old daughter Lyra with Aljaz, shared a string of photos on Instagram alongside her husband, who returned to Strictly this year following a two-year hiatus, and his parents after they surprised him with a vist from Slovenia for the final.

Alongside the photos, the star gushed: "I have no words to express how IMMENSELY proud I am of @aljazskorjanec this series. What a comeback year! You worked incredibly hard, spent time away from home and our little family, pushed through missing Lyra as much as you did, and did it all with class and grace making your wife and daughter and yourself very proud.

"You were AMAZING last night and every single week. I am so very happy for you, as are your family, friends and team. Now…. Let’s go home and cuddle. I’ve missed you, and I love you."
