BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'crying' as Dianne Buswell breaks down in tears

by · Manchester Evening News

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left crying at home after Diane Buswell broke into tears at the end of her routine on Saturday night.

The Australian professional dancer delivered a classical American smooth routine with celebrity partner and Comedian Chris McCausland as Strictly returned to Blackpool.

They danced to Canadian-born singer Paul Anka’s Jump, and afterwards punched the air and bounced excitedly after they became the 100th Strictly couple to perform in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Head judge Shirley Ballas told black tie-wearing McCausland he had the “best feet I’ve seen in a long time”, and “didn’t miss a beat”.

“If anyone can beat that tonight, I’d be amazed,” Anton Du Beke said.

Dianne and Chris earned 37 points from the judges, as the stand-up comedian’s mother, father and sister watched him in the audience.

It was all too much who became emotional after the pair received their highest score of the series.

Writing on X, formerly Twitter, @dontyouknowemma said: "I'm actually crying at Chris and Dianne His reaction to finishing the dance and then Dianne's shock at the score. What a beautiful dance; they so looked like they belonged there!"

@solitairetori wrote: "not me crying with Dianne, that was so sweet" while @TheMeganHayward said: "Chris & Dianne, the glitterball HAS to be yours Incredible, yes I’m crying."

Meanwhile, @gracedaniels added: "Chris getting 2 tens on strictly and Dianne crying I was getting emotional deserved!! Vote for Chris and Dianne when all the couples have finished."

Every year, the hit BBC One dance competition heads up north to the seaside town where the programme is broadcast live from the Toweer Ballroom as the eight remaining couples perform on the legendary venue's spring floor.

This week's show also started with a performance from Pet Shop Boys, who will opened with a medley of hits as the Strictly professional dancers performed a routine.
