by James Holt · Manchester Evening NewsA tearful Paddy McGuiness announced he's 'never been so happy' as he was told the eyewatering huge new amount raised for his 300-mile charity bike ride.
The Bolton TV presenter and funny man is set to reach the end of his ambitious Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge on Friday (November 15), which saw him attempt to cycle 300 miles from Wrexham AFC to Glasgow on a Raleigh Chopper.
During the major feat for Children in Need, he sought assistance from Olympic superstar Sir Chris Hoy who put him through his paces with a brutal training regime and received messages of support from Radio 2 colleagues and funny man Peter Key.

In a new interview with Zoe Ball on Radio 2's breakfast show on Friday, as he ploughed through the last remaining miles, the comic was told the new huge charity amount raised for his efforts.
Ball told him over the phone that the current amount was sitting at £6.83 million, to which he replied: "I have never been this happy, it's beautiful." McGuiness seemed lost for words as he gasped and said: "It's a mind-blowing amount of money."

Earlier on Friday morning, the Radio Two and former Top Gear presenter, 51, who trekked across the country on a chopper bike, told the BBC: "As usual at this time in the morning, everything's sore, everything's aching. We're on the final bit now. Everyone's been supporting us all the way. It's been an amazing four days.
"I've been absolutely blown away by the amount of people... I can't tell you about bits where people weren't stood on the roads. It's a privilege to be a part of it. For me, it's like a moment in time I will hang on to.
"But I've just rocked up here where we're going to set off, and it's dark, it's a little bit drizzly, and people are already here to wish me well, so you can't not be in a positive frame of mind with that."
McGuinness will see the final total raised by his ultra-endurance challenge revealed during this year's televised Children in Need appeal, which starts at 7pm on BBC One on Friday. McGuinness is due to arrive at the finish line at the BBC studios in Glasgow earlier in the day.
