'Deliciously twisty' murder mystery based on bestselling books renewed for second season
by Lucas Hill-Paul · Manchester Evening NewsThe BBC and Netflix have announced that the much-anticipated second season of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is officially in production.
After its debut earlier this year, season one quickly became a hit, premiering on the channel and iPlayer in July before going international on Netflix in August.
Starring Emma Myers from Wednesday as the young sleuth Pip Fitz-Amobi, the first season followed her as she unravelled the mystery surrounding a girl who vanished years prior.
The show is adapted from Holly Jackson's popular series of crime novels, with the second book, Good Girl, Bad Blood, featuring yet another disappearance.
Fresh from solving her previous case, Pip aims to step back from detective work, especially with Max Hasting's (portrayed by Henry Ashton) trial looming. However, when key witness Jamie Reynolds vanishes, it seems she can't leave her investigative instincts behind, reports the Mirror.

Myers is set to reprise her role as Pip, and Zain Iqbal will return as Ravi Singh, Pip's confidant and romantic interest.
Season one received high praise from both critics and audiences during its summer release, making the upcoming season an eagerly awaited follow-up.
The New Statesman lauded the first season as "deliciously old-fashioned television", commenting: "This BBC series is delightful, knowing, involving, non-challenging, a touch silly. Suspend your disbelief, lie back and enjoy."
Meanwhile, The Independent characterised the series as a "moreish, twisty mystery like Famous Five meets Pretty Little Liars".
"It's a combination that shouldn't really work on paper," they commented. "But will have you hooked all the same."
Reacting to the announcement of a second season, author Holly Jackson expressed her excitement about coming on board as a co-writer: "I am BEYOND thrilled that we can continue Pip's story and, this time, I'm writing on the show!
