Netflix has offered a sneak peek at the new series of Wednesday, which will see Jenna Ortega reprising her titular role.

The teaser, shared on the streaming platform's official social media channels, provides a small hint of what fans can anticipate when the new episodes finally drop.

The footage shown is actually a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the new series rather than a fresh trailer, but it still offers a glimpse of the returning characters, including Luis Guzman as Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia.

It also confirms the return of a renowned face behind the camera, with Tim Burton set to direct at least one episode. This follows his recent collaboration with Ortega on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

There could also be some new additions to the cast, as Burton has hinted in recent interviews that Steve Buscemi, Thandie Newton, and Billie Piper are expected to join the show. Zeta-Jones has also teased fans that they should brace themselves for something even bigger with the new series, reports the Mirror.

However, fans have identified a minor issue with Netflix's post: the series won't be available until 2025. Many are growing restless and hope they won't have to wait until next Halloween.

One fan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying: "Why do we have to wait so long" while another pleaded: "Give us S2 as soon as possible in 2025!"

One viewer expressed their excitement about Netflix's upcoming line-up, stating: "2025 will be a great year for Netflix! Keep the good news coming!"

Another eager fan commented: "To be honest, I'm surprised it's coming out in 2025. But I'm glad there's finally a season 2."
