Seven years on from their engagement announcement in The Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's love story continues to captivate the world. The couple, who first met on a blind date in 2016, quickly fell for each other, leading to their engagement in November 2017 as they were cooking roast chicken at home.

Now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are proud parents to Archie, five, and Lilibet, and have swapped London life for Montecito, California, where they've been living since 2020. Body language expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, has weighed in on the couple's enduring bond, suggesting that Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, have a "telepathic connection" that will see their relationship "will last the course of time", reports OK!.

"Harry and Meghan often display prolonged eye contact between each other, which proves the couple’s deep level of connection and rapport," he said. "Meghan especially has great eye contact, as she tends to fixate on whoever she is talking to."

Despite the pressures of an increasingly public life and their commitment to various humanitarian causes, it seems the Sussexes' global profile and busy schedules have only served to strengthen their partnership, according to Darren. "When we take a look at the changes in Harry and Meghan’s lives since the beginning of their relationship, Meghan has become a global figure and one of the most recognisable people in the world. While this may have caused issues for other couples, Harry and Meghan appear to be stronger than ever," he continued. "The fact they have managed to overcome certain challenges and show genuine emotion proves they are clearly meant to be. I definitely believe they will last the course of time."

And given that Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior royals in 2020, the couple don’t have to adhere to certain protocols that other royals may have to. In turn, Darren explained that this has allowed them to appear more genuine in their relationship. "I think Harry and Meghan’s relationship differs from other members of the royal family as they don’t have to stick to royal protocols. Even though Kate and William have developed in terms of showing displays of affection, there are still some protocols senior members of the family must adhere to. This allows them to be completely authentic as a couple," he added.
