Prince William's hidden tribute to brother Harry in emotional royal video

It's no secret that Prince William and Prince Harry are no longer close - so fans were surprised to spot what they believe was a touching nod to Harry in the future King's home

There was a time when Prince William and Prince Harry's brotherly bond seemed unbreakable. But following Harry's departure from royal life and his ongoing criticism of his family, a bitter feud has developed between the pair that shows no sign of resolution.

So royal fans were surprised to spot a subtle nod to Harry in William's home in a behind the scenes video taken at the time of King Charles's Coronation.

In one fleeting shot, William and Kate's daughter Princess Charlotte can be seen running through the family's living room at Kensington Palace. As she passes by, a piano can be seen in the background with a number of photos displayed on the top - and one of them caught the attention of eagle-eyed viewers.

The black and white image shows a young William and Harry hugging their late mother, Princess Diana. It was taken for Diana's 1995 Christmas card, one year before she divorced King Charles, then Prince of Wales, and two years before her untimely death at the age of 36.

Once the clip hit TikTok, fans saw what they interpreted as William's nod to his brother and wished that the two would resolve their differences. "I honestly wish Harry and William could come together. Diana would be devastated," someone wrote on the social media platform.

Furthermore, William and Princess Kate joined the King in acknowledging Harry's 40th birthday in September.

However, while some hoped that it was an indicator of the pair rebuilding their relationship, it's thought it was just the result of the late Queen's royal order. According to InStyle , Richard Palmer, a royal correspondent and commentator, stated that in 2022, the Queen decreed that non-working royals' birthdays would be celebrated (in this case marked on social media) if they end in a zero.

In the time since he left the royal family , Harry and wife Meghan Markle have been openly critical of the monarchy; in their infamous Oprah interview , their Netflix show, interviews, and in his memoir Spare . Their continual bombshells have left William's relationship with Harry strained - and according to one royal expert, it's led to future king William completely 'cutting ties' with his younger brother.

Ingrid Seward touched up the importance of stability in William's life, telling the Mirror: "William is sensitive, he likes structure and has perseverance. He does not give up easily. His relationship with brother Harry upset him more than he would care to admit. But he found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed."

Reflecting on William's challenging year, Ingrid continued: "His father got cancer and Kate had a serious abdominal operation. Later to announce she too had to have cancer treatment. William played both mother and father to the children while he carried on with his royal duties supporting the Queen in his father's absence.

"The traumas of the past year have made him a stronger person. He has become the kind of man Diana always hoped he would be. Kind considerate and able to take on whatever life throws at him."

Prince William is believed to no longer have contact with his younger brother and it is not known when they last saw each other. In his 60 Minutes interview in January 2023, Harry was asked if he "Speaks to William now? Do you text?" He replied: "Currently, no. But I look forward to… I look forward to us being able to find peace." The interviewer pressed on how much time it had been, to which Harry added that it had been "a while."
