Kate Middleton's favourite drink comes with a very adorable twist
Everyone has a go-to hot beverage and in the UK a good cup of tea nearly always takes the top spot in most people's hearts, and Princess Kate is reportedly no exception
by Emma Mackenzie · The MirrorAs pretty much everyone in the UK will tell you, there is nothing quite so comforting as a perfectly brewed cup of tea.
It's the first thing we offer any visitors to our homes, and the first thing many people think of as soon as their eyes are open in the morning - there's nothing like the first cup of the day - but everyone has their own preference over exactly how to make their brew. From Darjeeling, known as the 'champagne of teas' all the way to a hearty English Breakfast tea, there are so many different kinds out there waiting to be enjoyed.
In families up and down the country, every member likes theirs a little differently, and the Royal Family is no exception to this. King Charles is reported to be a Darjeeling guy - nothing but the best for the monarch - and Prince William apparently opts for a "down to earth" English Breakfast.
Princess Kate, on the other hand, is reported to take after the late Queen Elizabeth and prefers the delicacy of a cup of Earl Grey, with a sweet twist, reports Luxurious magazine. Kate is said to pop honey in her tea as a natural sweetener, and her father-in-law King Charles has also been reported to do the same with his beloved Darjeeling, so she is in good company.
Whilst Kate's go-to soft drink might be a perfectly brewed cup of Earl Grey, she has also been reported to enjoy an alcoholic tipple every now and again. Palace insiders claim that Prince William often makes her a gin and tonic as part of a post children's bedtime nightly ritual.
Last year, when Kate was spotted attending a festival in Norfolk, she is reported to have enjoyed some tequila-based cocktails whilst she was out with her friends. A source reportedly said that the future Queen "was in high spirits, ordering spicy margaritas, eating affogato and speaking affably with the other members of her party."
Hello magazine reports that another preferred cocktail of Kate and William's is "the 'Crack Baby' cocktail, consisting of vodka, champagne and passionfruit juice, served at their wedding in April 2011." However, Kate is known to be seriously health-focused and really physically active, and has been pictured making she sure stays hydrated with bottles of water during any active royal engagements she has taken part in over the years.
