Hilarious photos showed the moment Prince Andrew ’s horse nearly threw him from the saddle, as he took a morning ride.

The Duke of York was seen out and about with granddaughter Sienna as they enjoyed some time together. However, as they went for a trot together in the morning air, suddenly all was not right as the animal did not appear too happy.

In a series of pictures taken from the scene, 62-year-old Andrew can be seen doing his very best to not lose his seat as the increasingly unhappy horse starts to move below him. While no doubt distressing for man and beast, the prince pulled a number of funny faces as the situation unfolded.

Luckily for Andrew, the horse seemed to finally claim itself without anyone falling. Even if he had, the safety-minded prince was wearing a hard hat in case of emergency.

Sienna, Andrew’s riding mate for the day, is the eldest child of his own daughter, Prince Beatrice and tenth in line to the throne. She shares the child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

It comes as it was reported Charles and younger brother Andrew are still at odds in the feud over Royal Lodge. It has long been reported the King would like his disgraced younger brother to move out of his 30-room mansion in Windsor Great Park, into the nearby smaller Frogmore Cottage .

It is also believed Andrew's annual £1 million "living allowance" has been withdrawn by Charles , with many left wondering how the Duke of York can continue to pay for the upkeep of the home. Andrew, who lives with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, is digging his heels in and remaining at the property with reports he is now financing the security needed for the property himself.

With Christmas just over a month away, Charles has decision to make this soon over whether Andrew be allowed to walk with the rest of the royals to church. For the last two years, Andrew has been allowed to make the public journey to church alongside the King, Queen Camilla , his daughter Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and last year, his ex-wife, Sarah.

Since 2004, Andrew has lived at Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate, which he now shares with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Royal Lodge dates back to the mid-17th Century but it wasn't until the mid-1930s that it got its first royal residents. In 1931, it was gifted to George VI and the Queen Mother - the then Duke and Duchess of York - as a weekend retreat.
