'Key element' has been vital to Kate Middleton's recovery after cancer diagnosis
A royal expert has claimed that there has been one 'key element' that in his view has been vital to Princess Kate's recovery during the health challenges she has faced over the last year
by Emma Mackenzie · The MirrorThe last year certainly has not been an easy one for Princess Kate, her husband Prince William, and their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.
After a major abdominal surgery early in the year, Kate was informed by her medical team that "cancer had been present" and began a course of chemotherapy, which meant she had to press pause on her public royal duties for a significant period.
Whilst Kate announced on 9 September that she had completed her chemotherapy and will be incorporating a few engagements back into her calendar - including recently attending the Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph - her focus is to "stay cancer-free".
A royal expert has claimed that there was one "key element" in particular that in his opinion helped Kate with her recovery, and it all has to do with the Wales family's private life behind closed doors. Author Christopher Anderson - who has written many royal biographies - explained to the New York Post that the chugging on of normal life and routines in Kate's home has been important in his opinion in her recovery.
"But since Kate's cancer diagnosis, the children have been more sensitive to their mother's needs for a little more peace and quiet than usual," the expert claimed. "But their overall family dynamic – the hectic schedule of school, after-class activities, birthday parties, and play dates that fill the calendar – hasn't changed. That continuing sense of normalcy has without doubt been key to Kate's recovery."
Over the years of William and Kate's marriage, many royal experts have noted that the relatively normal middle-class upbringing that Kate enjoyed is something that has played an important role in her relationship and overall family life. Expert Kate Nicholl explained that in her opinion, the entire Middleton family play a crucial role when it comes to keeping a sense of normality in the Wales family private life.
Carole and Michael Middleton - Kate's parents - are known to play a massive role in the three Wales children's lives and that is likely to have been a massive support for Kate whilst she was recovering. "Having Kate's family so intrinsically linked with them is key," the expert explained. "The Middletons bring a great dose of normality and stability to those children's lives. They're there on the bucket and spade holidays, they're there for the parties and they're there to step in when William and Kate need them. They really are just loving, normal, down-to-earth grandparents," per The Express US.
