‘Letterman TV’: David Letterman Launches 24/7 Channel on Samsung TV Plus (TV News Roundup)
by Lauren Coates · VarietyDavid Letterman has launched “Letterman TV”, an 24/7 channel streaming all things Letterman, exclusively on Samsung TV Plus. Starting today in the United States and Canada, the channel will stream “The Late Show With David Letterman”, curated moments, interviews and never-before-seen commentary from Letterman.
“Dave’s show was the original viral video,” said Walter Kim, Executive Producer for digital at Letterman’s production company Worldwide Pants, Inc. “As someone who worked for the entirety of “The Late Show”, it’s a thrill to help assemble and create programming around some of our favorite moments from the show, and with more than 4000 hours from which to choose, the channel will continuously change.”

Scott Frank will be honored with the Writer’s Guild of America East’s Ian McLellan Hunter Award for Career Achievement at the 77th Annual Writer’s Guild Awards Saturday, Feb. 15. Frank, whose career includes screenwriting, directing and producing for both film and television, marks his 40th year as a WGA member in 2025.
“Scott Frank is a brilliant screenwriter who has given us some of the most iconic movies and TV series over his varied career,” said WGAE President Lisa Takeuchi Cullen. “He is also a devoted Guild member, and we are thrilled to honor him with the Hunter Award for Career Achievement.”
The Hunter Award was established in 1992 and named in memory of longtime WGAE member Ian McLellan Hunter. The award is presented to a WGAE member in honor of their body of work as a writer in motion pictures or television. Past recipients include Spike Lee, John Waters and Nora Ephron.

The Television Publicity Executive Committee (TPEC) has announced the launch of its third annual TPEC Awards. This year’s awards include five new categories: Outstanding Campaigns for New and Returning Genre Series, Documentary Movie or Limited Series, and Live or Taped Variety Shows.
TPEC also announced the debut of the Press Impact Award, which will recognize “a journalist whose work has significantly influenced the television industry narrative.” Participants must be current members to submit a campaign.
Submissions open December 16 and close March 31, followed by a voting period in April. Winners will be revealed in June 2025. Campaign eligibility spans from January 2024 to December 2024. Additional submission guidelines are available on the TPEC website.
