In addition to starring in the film, Jeezy will serve as executive producer on its original soundtrack, releasing on the same day as the movie. “‘Trap City’ sheds light on the realities of fame, power, and the sacrifices we make to overcome adversity,” says Jeezy. “This film is a powerful narrative that I know will resonate with audiences.”

“Trap City” will be released in partnership between Kyyba Films and Anchored Lens Productions. The film “holds a mirror to society’s allure of fame and power,” says Ganesan. “It reflects the intricate tapestry of contemporary life, shedding light on how power can uplift or shatter the human spirit.”

Jeezy is stepping into acting a year after his split from Def Jam, the label he called home for nearly two decades. In tandem with the announcement in Sept. 2023, he released the independent double album “I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget.” This past June, he featured on the remix to JT’s hit “Okay.”
