Bill Maher Announces HBO Comedy Special ‘Is Anyone Else Seeing This?’
by Ethan Shanfeld · VarietyBill Maher has set a new comedy special at HBO titled “Is Anyone Else Seeing This?”
Set to debut in January, it marks Maher’s 13th stand-up hour for the network. Maher, the host of HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher” and the “Club Random” podcast, will tape the special in front of a live audience at the CIBC Theater in Chicago.
“I almost called this special ‘You Won’t Feel Safe,’ because if you’re purely a team player in American politics, you won’t,” Maher said in a statement. “This one is for the 80% of Americans who want to see crazy called out no matter where it comes from. And the last 20 minutes on my sex life, that’s for everybody.”
Executive producers for “Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?” are Maher, Marc Gurvitz, Marcus Raboy and Neal Marshall. Rhonda Freeson serves as producer.
“Bill’s comedic commentary has been an extraordinary part of HBO for 12 specials and 22 seasons of ‘Real Time with Bill Maher,'” Nina Rosenstein, the EVP of late night and specials programming for HBO, said in a statement. “We truly value his steadfast commitment to honesty and humor, which we know will be front and center in his next special.”
Maher headlined his first HBO special in 1989 and has since starred in 12 solo specials for the cabler, including his most recent hour, 2022’s “#Adulting.” He is currently on his 22nd season of hosting “Real Time,” the comedy news program that tackles politics with a weekly panel.
