‘The Pitt’ Trailer: Noah Wyle Is an ER Doctor Trying to Make It Through One Shift in Max’s Blood-Pumping Medical Drama
by Jack Dunn · VarietyMax has unveiled the trailer and key art for its new medical drama, “The Pitt,” from creator R. Scott Gemmill. The 15-episode Max Original debuts with a dual-episode premiere on Jan. 9, with new episodes airing every Thursday until April 10.
According to the official logline, “‘The Pitt’ is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn. Each episode follows an hour of Dr. Robby’s (Noah Wyle) 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s emergency room.”

In the trailer, Dr. Robby finds his co-worker and old rival, played by Shawn Hatosy, standing on the edge of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s roof. “If you jump on my shift that’s just rude, man,” Dr. Robby tells him. “Hope I’m never one of your patients,” he grumbles in response. Robby quips back, “Makes two of us my friend.”
Additional cast members include Tracey Ifeachor as Dr. Collins, Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, Shabana Azeez as Javad and Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans.
“The Pitt” is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under an overall deal. Gemmill wrote the first episode and serves as executive producer with Wyle, John Wells and JWP’s Erin Jontow, Simran Baidwan and Michael Hissrich.
