Podcast: Sinn Féin and RTÉ, coddle, and Indie challenges

· RTE.ie

In the latest episode of RTÉ's General Election podcast Behind the Ballot, Katie, Fran, and David are joined by a chilly Paul Cunningham to look back on a week that saw Sinn Féin put the spotlight on RTÉ.

They’ll also be chatting about Paschal Donohue’s peculiar move into the food content world, and the squabbling between Micheál Martin and Peadar Tóibín.

Friday’s campaign trail saw Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald appear on Claire Byrne’s radio show, and there were some talking points in it as she was challenged on a line in the party’s manifesto that said they would commission an independent review into the RTÉ's coverage of Gaza.

Paul and Fran, who have both reported from the Middle East this year, gave their analysis on the interview that has got people talking.

The group also discuss independent candidates, and how they may just be the story of this election.

All this and more can be heard on RTÉ's General Election podcast Behind the Ballot, which is available on all major podcast sites.

You can find it on Spotify here, on Apple podcasts here, or on the RTE website here.
