He appeared in the show from 1987 to 1997. Don Brennan was a complex character, known for his troubled relationships and dramatic storylines, including his financial struggles and eventual mental breakdown, which led to a tragic car crash.
Outside of Coronation Street, Hinsliff had a long and varied career in British television and film. He appeared in other TV shows such as The Professionals, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, and Z-Cars. He also made appearances in stage productions and smaller roles in films.
Hinsliff trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and had a solid reputation for playing a variety of roles, both dramatic and comedic, in British television.
