Spot yourself in these Christmas school nativity photos from the 90s

We all have memories of taking part in our school nativity or festive plays back in the day. But these brilliant photos are bound to stir some memories for one generation in particular.

A Christmas tradition, thousands across Merseyside will remember being given their part for their school production, or wearing a costume that had been made by hand by parents or teachers. Before camera phones existed, only disposable cameras or photographers covering the event would capture classes or groups of children on stage singing, or dressed as shepherds, stars, wise men and more.

We previously delved into the archive to find these lovely photos from Merseyside nativities in 1999. But as Christmas comes back around and the year marks 25 years since these images were taken, we wanted to share them once again.

Unearthed from our archive, Mirrorpix, these photographs show a handful of schools and productions from Southport, Maghull and Crosby. Some photos show children smiling for the camera, whereas others show the whole cast of the nativity as curtains close.
