We have been bombarded on television with Christmas adverts for three weeks already. Decorations and trees are up everywhere across the country, and to date, I’ve seen six houses joining them.
The shops have a ridiculous amount of food for sale. Am I missing something here, is there anyone selling Easter Eggs yet?
I wouldn’t mind, but we haven't even had Black Friday yet. I am gearing up for a busy December.
I always get sad at this time of year as I don’t do panto anymore. It’s not that nobody wants me, but I am of an age where the schedules would kill me - sometimes three shows a day.
Having said that, I am lending my voice for a cameo role, alongside six friends in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves at St Helens Theatre Royal. Me, Johnny Vegas, Joel Ross, Philip the Queen of Scotty Road, Louis Emerick, Craig Phillips and John May are all playing the voices of the seven dwarves.

They’ve got seven beautiful puppets. Chantelle Nolan is the theatre manager, director and producer.
And if anyone is ill - she gets the costume on in a flash and becomes the performer. I am delighted that this talented lady is a dear friend.
Her pantos are always topical, beautifully dressed, and full of surprises. This year her top of the bill is Maureen Nolan and Emrhys Cooper, one of the Coronation Street villains.
Plus Leanne Campbell is appearing digitally as the magic mirror. Chantelle had a brilliant idea, and instead of paying us a fee for the voiceovers that took an hour to record, each one of us has been given a donation to our favourite charity.
I’ve given mine to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, which I am working for again on December 8 hosting a Christmas Concert at the Metropolitan Cathedral with the Wirral Orchestra and Choir. Kathryn Rudge, the Metso soprano, and the world-renowned artist Emma Rodgers will both be with us, plus a piped band with a hint of Christmas in the Highlands.
Last year I was invited by the conductor to lead the orchestra, and it’s a moment I shall never forget. I’ve come a long way from conducting with my mum’s knitting needle, aged ten.
Emma Rodgers has taken time out of her busy schedule to create a fairy pin badge for the Clatterbridge Christmas Appeal. You can dedicate a fairy to someone special, which will appear on the charity’s website.
And if you donate £40 or more, you will receive one of Emma's limited-edition fairy pins. It would be lovely to see you at the Metropolitan Cathedral on December 6 at 7.30 pm.
Tickets cost £12 and under-11s come in free. You can buy your tickets from Clatterbridgecharity.org (https://clatterbridgecharity.org/make-a-donation/fairy-appeal/)
So that’s the start of my December, and let’s not forget I am the narrator in the Rocky Horror show with Jason Donovan at the Liverpool Playhouse on December 3, 4, 5 and 7. Let’s do the time warp again!
