Naas woman wins Church of Ireland photo competition with image of snowy Canal
The Gazette publication said it was inundated with entries for the competition
by Kildare Reporter · Leinster LeaderA Naas woman has won a photo competition with a snowy image of the Canal in the town.
Lilian Webb won the Christmas Cover Photographic Competition of the Church of Ireland Gazette.
The Gazette publication, which was founded in 1856, said it was inundated with entries for the competition.
The publication said:
"We had so many wonderful entries to our Christmas cover competition, and our judges loved seeing the breadth
of creative vision in all the different interpretations of this year’s theme, ‘Wonders of His Love’.
"The judges had a very difficult time making their decision, but they finally chose Lilian Webb from the parish of Celbridge and Straffan with Newcastle-Lyons, United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough, as the winner.
Lilian’s glorious wintery scene of a barge on the Grand Canal makes an excellent cover for this issue, and the drama of the
natural landscape contrasts beautifully with the hushed mood of the scene."
Congratulations to Lilian!
