Local artist unveils iconic selection of local scenes

Naas artist and fine art specialist Tony G Murray who has been active in the Irish art scene for  nearly two decades has released a new collection capturing iconic winter scenes in Naas.

Based at Murray Imagine Studios, he has been  capturing and preserving the work of Ireland’s leading artists, including Peter Curling and Mark O'Neill and has established himself as the trusted printmaker for artists across Ireland.

He has also collaborated with  nationally recognised astrophotographer Tom O'Donohue and locally he  works closely with Kildare-based artists such as Josephine Hardiman and Ann McKenna.

He has also just completed a commission for digitising and archiving the permanent art collection for the Butler Gallery in Kilkenny.

In 2022, he was selected to exhibit his work at the prestigious Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA), a significant milestone in any artist’s career.Earlier this year, Tony collaborated with prominent bookstore Barker & Jones Naas, to showcase his photography collections inspired by the local landscape and heritage.

Winter Hues

The three collections – de Burgh Series, Luisne Garden Collection, and Along the Grand Canal series – capture Naas’ unique beauty and have been warmly received by the local community.Tony has now unveiled his latest endeavour: a collection of fine art prints, featuring four on the Grand Canal.

The prints Abbey Bridge – Winter;  Tandy Bridge – Winter; Winter Hues; and Winter Walk are available exclusively at Barker & Jones, with prices starting at €35 for a mounted print, up to €145 for a 20x16in (approx 50x40cm) framed print.

“I’d like to thank Kate and her team at Barker & Jones for their unwavering support in bringing these collections to the local community,” Tony says.

He also extends his appreciation to Niamh Harney of Inniscara Bespoke Framing, Rathmore and Carmel Cahill at the Frame Shop, Basin Street, Naas, who he has utilised for two decades for his commercial and fine art creations.
