Since the 1980s, renowned artist Fergus Lyons’ paintings have chronicled and narrated historical milestones and life events, both past and present.
The renowned Sligo-based artist - whose work has been viewed all over Ireland as well as overseas.
Kilcock Art Gallery is a special venue for the artist, whose connection with the gallery goes back an incredible 45 years.
Among the paintings in his forthcoming exhibition entitled ‘On The Way Home’ are ‘The Sun Trap’ and ‘On the Way Home’.
Another painting entitled ‘The UN Peacekeeping Commission’ dates from the time he was invited to Lebanon to commemorate the 40 th anniversary of Irish peacekeepers in the region.
‘Building Bridges’ depicts the bridge over the mighty River Shannon in Athlone.
Born in Portlaw Village, Co Waterford in the 1950s, Lyons studied art in the National College of Art and Design in Dublin.
In recent years, he exhibited his work across the European Continent including in Germany and Denmark.
