I'm A Celeb's Coleen Rooney calls Donald Trump 'dirty b*****d' after awkward meeting
by Katy Hallam, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/katy-hallam/, Joel Leaver · Birmingham LiveTV star Coleen Rooney shared a throwback to the time she met Donald Trump while living in the US, recounting the tale on this weekend's I'm A Celebrity. The 38 year old celeb is lighting up the newest series of the ITV hit show since its launch last week.
Dishing tales from her life during her stint in the Aussie jungle, on Sunday night's episode, she reminisced about her American days. Coleen, along with her footballer husband Wayne Rooney, now aged 39, and their brood spent time in Washington D. C. from 2018 to 2019.
During his career, Wayne took to the pitch for D.C. United before hanging up his boots, reports the Mirror. Back in December 2018, it was at a festive White House bash where Coleen and management-bound Wayne basked in the spotlight as VIP attendees, accompanied by sons Kai, now 15, Klay, now 11, Kit, now eight, and Cass, now six.
Spilling the beans to her fellow campmates, Coleen related the anecdote: "When we lived in America, we were invited to the White House for Christmas and we went in to meet ... so it was Donald Trump [who was President]."
As the chat went on: "So we walked in and we got to get like y'know the official photograph taken in front of the Christmas tree and stuff. So Donald Trump said to my son 'see? Told ya, all the soccer players get the good looking girls'. And I told my mum - I was like 'dirty b*****d'."
Coleen went on to suggest that the former US President, who is now 78, had "wanted Wayne to go over to like teach his son ... like play football with his son." At the time of their White House visit, it was widely reported that Trump's son Barron, who is now 18, was an avid fan of football and particularly admired the skills of footballer Wayne.
During a chat on 'I'm A Celebrity' this week, band member of McFly, Danny Jones, quizzed Coleen about her encounter with the ex-politician, asking: "Is he that orange? " To which Coleen responded shortly after: "He was very orange!".
