Ruth Langsford supported as she shares beloved mum is in hospital

Ruth Langsford has shared that her mum is currently in hospital following a severe fall, leading to an outpouring of support from fans. The Loose Women host took to social media to share that Joan's injury has disrupted her Christmas plans.

Ruth, 64, informed her followers that her mother has fractured her pelvis and is recuperating in the hospital. She posted a video of her elderly mum dancing in her kitchen while peeling potatoes, writing: "No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas....

"She’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis! She’s ok...ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now."

Ruth continued: "She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon. This time last year she fell and broke her hip but recovered well...she’s a very strong woman so I’m sure she’ll recover from this too.

"Put’s life and what’s important into perspective eh? Happy Christmas!"

Her celebrity friends rallied around her with messages of support, with Lizzie Cundy commenting: "Sending you so much love . Hoping Mum will be back dancing very soon .Sending huge hugs my darling."

Lucy Alexander responded: "Sending you a huge hug Ruthie... I know how much you love your mum. Hope she's on the mend soon." Chef Juliet Sear chimed in: "Bless her sending all the love and healing vibes."

Ruth has previously spoken about Joan's health struggles as she receives care in a home while living with Dementia. Ruth often includes Joan in her social media posts, showing their weekend visits where they enjoy cooking together.
