Lorraine Kelly 'so sad' before Christmas as she's forced to make appeal
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveLorraine Kelly has been left heartbroken before the festive season - as the ITV star launches a desperate Christmas appeal. Lorraine is fronting a new campaign, Lorraine's Big Baby Bank Appeal, to help provide essential items for struggling families in the run up to Christmas.
Lorraine's Big Baby Bank Appeal, in partnership with The Baby Bank Alliance and Morrisons supermarket, will help provide essential items for families experiencing hardship this winter. "I was so sad to hear of the stories of parents having to turn to baby banks for all kinds of basics from nappies to cots and clothes," the 64-year-old said to the Mirror.
Lorraine added: "Not just people struggling because they can’t find work, but those in employment who don’t earn enough to give their babies all that they need through no fault of their own. It’s wonderful that baby banks are there to give support and dignity but how I wish we didn’t actually need them. I know our wonderful viewers will help."

Earlier this year, Lorraine confirmed she has become a grandmother for the first time. Sharing the wonderful news on Instagram, alongside the first picture of her granddaughter, the morning TV presenter revealed just how excited she was for her new family role along with how proud she is of her daughter Rosie.
Lorraine, 64, wrote: "I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you! Baby Billie is an angel and I’m so proud of @rosiekellysmith and @stevewhite94 who will be the best parents. I’m delighted to be Granny Smith and can’t wait to go on adventures. #love #joy #happiness #family."
Lorraine's daughter announced on her own Instagram page: "Baby Billie Kelly Smith-White is here 29-08-2024. It feels like she’s been here the whole time and we’re not quite sure what the point of anything was before.
"I’d heard how amazing midwives are but they are genuinely walking angels - she’s been welcomed into the world with so much love already."
Lorraine's Big Baby Bank Appeal launches on Monday at 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
