Sunday Brunch star swears on air as Tim Lovejoy forced to apologise to viewers
by Shivon Watson · Birmingham LiveSunday Brunch took an unexpected twist when presenter Simon Rimmer accidentally used a swear word live on air. The Channel 4 show, hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Simon, returned with another packed episode on Sunday (November 24).
However, things went off-script during an interview with one of their celebrity guests. While speaking to Breana Tiesi about her popular US show, Selling Sunset, Simon delved into the drama and chaos among the cast.
He asked her: "Do you actually want to go behind the looks and say 'Oh yeah she looks gorgeous' when you're really going 'b***h.'" His co-host, Tim, seemed taken aback by his language, admitting he wasn't sure if that term was permissible.
Tim questioned: "What sort of language is that Simon? " He then apologised, saying: "That's a swear word, I apologise to any viewers there."
Following the incident, fans at home headed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. One spectator said: "Seeing the word 'b***h' curl out of Simon's mouth has made me feel very strange things."
This isn't the first time inappropriate language has been used on the Channel 4 show. In July, musician King Curious, real name Jim Sturgess, also swore on the programme, reports the Express.
Discussing his new music, he said: "It's hard finding a name, it's not easy finding a name for a solo album."
Tim excitedly mentioned to him: "It's cool, isn't it," as he waved his LP around. Delving into his creative process, the musician revealed: "I'd scribble like words and stuff down in my notebook so that was a big part of what I do and lyrics and passages and things."
"I was trying to find a name, so I came across this kind of, just a sentence that I'd written down, that said, 'I have no idea how this is going to play out, but I am so f***ing....'".
The moment those words slipped out, the show's hosts abruptly cut him off, with both hosts shouting "Woo woo", quite loudly in unison to cover it up.
Sunday Brunch airs Sundays from 10am on Channel 4
