ITV James Martin's 'lifestyle change' that led to 3st loss after vile trolling

Celebrity chef James Martin beat the trolls with a major lifestyle change that saw weight fall off him. The chef, famed for his appearances on ITV's Saturday Morning, has long been associated with the culinary delights that have tantalised UK viewers.

At 51 years old, renowned for his rich desserts and liberal use of butter, has often spoken about the challenges of maintaining a healthy weight amidst his delicious career.

Tipping the scales at 19st 17lbs at his heaviest, James discovered that ditching a particular treat was key to slimming down without strict diets or intense workouts.

The secret, as James revealed, was simply "cutting down on soft drinks". In an Instagram post, the chef flaunted his trimmer figure, much to the admiration of fans, reports the Express.

James, who faced online trolling over his weight, said it took a series of personal tragedies during the pandemic for him to reconsider his lifestyle choices.

Speaking at the Bolton Food and Drink Festival in August last year, James reflected on the impact of Covid -19, telling attendees, according to the Manchester Evening News: "I think when Covid hit, everyone started to re-evaluate their lives and what can you do better, and I think it was just a different focus on life."

He shared his weight loss journey, saying: "I lost three stone, and for me the main thing was cutting out fizzy drinks and I now drink 2.5 litres of water every day."

Reaching the milestone of 50 was a turning point for him, as he explained: "When you get to 50, when you get the phone call and hear some of your mates are not very well, or that some of your mates have passed away, you just have a different outlook on life. You still have the same drive, but how you achieve that, you do things slightly differently."

He revealed his reliance on fizzy drinks was the main issue, saying: "I don't really drink much alcohol, only about three or four units a month anyway, so I'm not much of a drinker - it was cutting out the fizzy drinks was the main thing for me."

The constant travel led to a dependence on sugary drinks, as he explained: "I think the problem when you're travelling from A to B all the time, you need that sugar hit, I don't drink tea or coffee, so fizzy drinks was the way I got it."

Magazine that he now drinks "two litres of water a day" while maintaining the same diet.

He added: "Water keeps your brain healthy and it keeps your skin healthy and it keeps you focused it's crazy when you give up soft drinks how much more your brain feels alive, it's very weird."
