ITV baffles viewers as scheduling move dubbed 'recycling'

If you like James Bond movies, and one in particular, you are in luck

ITV is showing the same movie two weekends in a row. The channel is set to broadcast the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough on Saturday from 4pm to 6:30pm. This comes just a week after the same film occupied the same timeslot.

Only days ago, the film was shown at 4.35pm on ITV for the first time. This peculiar move is the latest in a series of ITV's strategy of filling their schedules with the same reruns.

A few weeks ago, a similar issue arose with the game show Tipping Point, leaving fans instantly irate. In August, viewers experienced a sense of deja vu as the broadcaster started airing reruns of episodes that had been shown just two weeks earlier.

Despite having over 1,700 episodes in total, ITV has chosen to re-broadcast the same 20 episodes from series 13 in an odd move. In a peculiar move, only 19 episodes from series 13, currently being aired in regular re-runs, along with one episode from series 14 are available to stream on ITVX, despite the vast archive at ITV's disposal.

The channel has not provided any explanation for the repetition of the same episodes within weeks of each other or the limited selection on their streaming service.

Viewers were quick to express their frustration at the channel's strange decision. One viewer told The Sun: "They were on only a week or so ago, is it a mistake? I've never noticed this before, it's really rubbish."

Others took to X - formerly Twitter - to voice their opinions, posting: "@tippingpoint or is it Tripping Point? ".

"@ITV recycle these shows more frequently than my local refuse chaps."
