by · Birmingham Live

Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans has opened up to Janette Manrara about his weekly expectations of leaving the show, especially after finding himself in the bottom two last Sunday night.nThe opera singer, partnered with Katya Jones, appeared on the Strictly spin-off to discuss their upcoming routine and their feelings about being in the dreaded bottom two.

Wynne candidly confessed that he considers himself "not the best dancer" and had anticipated an early exit from the competition right after week one. Reflecting on their dance-off experience after eight weeks, the opera singer said: "Do you know what? I don't want to make light of being in the dance-off because nobody really wants to be in the dance-off."

"But as I said, on the night I expected to go on week one, pretty much. And so, since the first elimination, we have just been going, 'Do you know what? This could be our last dance on Strictly, so let's just get out there and have fun", reports the Mirror.

"And so you kind of expecting it at some point during the programme, so it was just one of those things, and we were like, really cool about it." Katya then contributed her thoughts: "You were so calm and collected about it, and the competition is strong, and like I said, in my opinion, and the judges noticed the footwork, the frame, the skill that you picked up."

She continued: "To me, it was one of your best dances because you're the best." In a recent update, Wynne and Katya had to cancel their appearance on It Takes Two on Wednesday night, with Dianne Buswell and Chris McCausland stepping in to fill the slot.

Host Janette Manrara briefly mentioned the unexpected change in the lineup, saying to the audience: "If you've got any questions like, 'Why are Chris and Dianne on when yesterday we said it was going to be Wynne and Katya? ' It's live TV, guys. You've got to roll with it, alright? Just roll with it."

The remaining stars will head to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom this Saturday, each hoping to secure their spot in the ongoing contest. Yet, come Sunday, one celebrity duo will face elimination after the tension-filled dance-off.

In the previous week's show, Shayne Ward was voted off after ending up in the bottom two with Wynne. The judges were split on their decision, ultimately leaving the final call to head judge Shirley Ballas, which led to a wave of fan backlash as she chose to save Wynne.

Following their departure, Nancy Xu shared her feelings on Strictly It Takes Two alongside Fleur East, commenting: "This year, I've found all the contestants, between all of them, they have a really strong connection. They've built friendships and supported each other week by week and day by day. So I can't describe the feeling but I was gutted."

Shayne Ward also reflected on his experience: "I think just watching that, I'm going to miss it. I'm going to miss Nancy so much. It's amazing just to see how far we've come together and how she was able to turn these two left feet into one left and one right! ".
