BBC Saturday Kitchen fans have said "it's just a chat show now" as they flooded the programme with complaints. BBC viewers are angry with the Matt Tebbutt-fronted programme for its focus on interviews rather than food and cooking.

"The amount of cooking shows I watch where you don’t actually get any commentary on how to make the dish is starting to wind me up. Love #saturdaykitchen but they barely show the processes anymore. As a novice cook I want to see how it’s done!" one fumed on Twitter, now X, on Saturday (September 28).

Another slammed a fellow guest, saying: "Dina Macki, so rude to Matt, not nice. I often think a lot of these lesser known chefs think they are on tv just to promote themselves, and expect Matt to do their recipe for them."

"#saturdaykitchen is basically a chat show now where people eat the food being cooked in the background. Stopped watching #Sundaybrunch for the same reason. Sticking with it cos I like the team and the chefs they have on, but pls show more of the food!" another fumed.

But others defended the show - especially the appearance of Paul Whitehouse. "It's stock Saturday but Paul Whitehouse is on so I am totally seated for this! My friend was working in the UK and would send VHS recordings of The Fast Show to me in Chicago" one wrote.

"#SaturdayKitchen Wonderfully funny organised chaos with Paul Whitehouse. You did well Matt keeping things together. Just lol !" another laughed. Reacting to Tom Parker Bowles' appearance, another said: "Ooo the late Queen's fave curry. Sounds good. Rich food is good but not needed all the time. I do "fancy" basics lol I'm going for Cream scones for my birthday. Luckily living Devon I get best. #SaturdayKitchen"

Another said: "@dinamacki brilliant on Saturday kitchen - taking no nonsense from Matt Tebutt, but they also have a great rapport. #saturdaykitchen" Another typed: "They keep talking about *rehearsals* on #SaturdayKitchen, but sometimes you *do* have to wonder."

"Watching #SaturdayKitchen & #PaulWhitehouse (brill) & I think “… & autistic, & autistic” Co-existence of #ADHD w autism is common.Many diagnosed #autistic find they identify being ADHD;same must b true in reverse yet where’s the recognition?Help smash #neurodivergent stereotypes" another said.
