BBC Strictly Come Dancing has sparked complaints seconds into the Blackpool show - after fans caught sight of Claudia Winkleman. BBC viewers have criticised Strictly Come Dancing over Claudia's outfit for the special episode in the North West.

Oneviewer took to Twitter/X and wrote: "Claudia in a magic carpet." Another said: "Claudia is wearing a magic carpet or a curtain from a Blackpool casino." A third shared: "Oh dear what is Claudia wearing, looks awful why does she get it so wrong so often."

Another added: "Woohoo! That Pet Shop Boys opening looked like fun on #Strictly but why, oh why, oh why is Claudia wearing my mother in law's old curtains???" Others, though, rushed to defend the BBC The Traitors host. One posted: "Obsessed with what Claudia’s wearing. OBSESSED."

Another agreed and said: "Love Claudia's gold kaftan, very stylish." Last week, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell - who kicked off tonight's Blackpool special - were praised for a poignant black out moment in their couple’s choice dance that mimicked McCausland’s own experience as a blind person.

Head judge Shirley Ballas told McCausland: “You don’t miss a beat. You have no fear. You come out every week with your heart on your sleeve, and you give us 100%.” Her fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood added: “That poignant blackout moment was absolutely spectacular.”

McCausland and Buswell, who closed out this weekend’s live show, danced to Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) by John Lennon which received rapturous applause from the audience and a score of 33 from the judges. This week, they kicked off the Blackpool special and became the 100th couple to perform in Blackpool.

Strictly Come Dancing continues to air each and every Saturday night on BBC One and also on BBC iPlayer with episodes available on demand too.
