Mrs Doubtfire remains a timeless classic, captivating audiences across generations. The late Robin Williams, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 63, left an indelible mark on the film industry with a career spanning decades. One of his most iconic roles was that of Mrs Doubtfire, the lovable and eccentric Scottish nanny.

In the 1993 film, Williams played Daniel Hillard, a father who devises an elaborate plan to spend more time with his children by disguising himself as Mrs Euphegenia Doubtfire.

The movie was an instant hit, solidifying Robin's status as one of Hollywood's leading actors. The film boasted an all-star cast, including Sally Field as his estranged wife Miranda and Pierce Brosnan as Stu, who attempted to woo Miranda but was consistently thwarted by Daniel's antics.

Thirty years on, we take a look at what the cast of this beloved film have been up to since its release, reports the Mirror.

ROBIN WILLIAMS

Robin masterfully portrayed two vastly different characters, Daniel Hillard and Mrs Doubtfire. Reflecting on his role at the time, Robin said: "I started to play with the voice. It was so freeing to be able to be someone totally different."

Following the success of the film, Robin Williams became a regular face in blockbuster hits such as Jumanji, The Birdcage, and Good Will Hunting.

However, his seemingly perfect life took a tragic turn when he was found dead at his home in Paradise Cay, California, with claims suggesting he had taken his own life. He left behind his third wife, Susan Schneider Williams, and three children.

SALLY FIELD

The iconic actress portrayed Daniel's ex-wife Miranda Hillard, who tried to move on from her past by dating her attractive colleague, Stu. Post the film's success, Sally bagged an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Lincoln, in 2012.

Over her illustrious career, she has reportedly won two awards and received three nominations. Her other notable films include Forest Gump, alongside Tom Hanks, and Where The Heart Is.

In 2018, she penned her first memoir, In Pieces. Sally is a mother to two sons, Peter and Eli, whom she shares with her ex-husband Steven Craig.

She later remarried and had a third son, Sam, with Alan Greisman.

MARA WILSON

Mara Wilson was just a child when she portrayed Natalie, the youngest of Daniel and Miranda's offspring. She later starred in the 1996 film Matilda.

After a 12-year hiatus from acting, Mara returned to the screen in 2012, featuring in productions such as Broad City, BoJack Horseman, and Big Hero 6: The Series. In addition to acting, she is an author and penned her memoir, Where Am I Now?

Lisa Jakub

Lisa Jakub portrayed Lydia Hillard, the eldest and troubled daughter of Daniel and Miranda. Her successful career continued until 2000, with her last known film being Double Frame.

In 2018, Lisa posted a reunion photo with cast members to commemorate 25 years. Nowadays, Lisa is a writer and yoga instructor.

In 2021, she launched a mental wellness website named Blue Mala.

Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence played Chris, the middle child. Post-film, he found further success in TV comedy series Blossom and Brotherly Love, and as Jack Hunter on Boy Meets World.

Matthew tied the knot with Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Cheryl Burke in 2019, but they soon parted ways. Cheryl filed for divorce in 2022.

Subsequently, Matthew was linked romantically to Chilli from pop group TLC.

Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan, famed for his role as Stu in the beloved film 'Mrs Doubtfire', where he played the suitor vying for Miranda's affection against Robin Williams' iconic character, has seen his career soar to impressive heights. Following his comedic turn, Brosnan took on the mantle of James Bond, starring in hits like 'Goldeneye' and 'Die Another Day' from 1995 to 2002, before joining Meryl Streep in the hit musical 'Mamma Mia!', among other notable roles.

Harvey Fierstein brought to life the character of Frank, Daniel's brother and the talented makeup artist behind Mrs Doubtfire's transformation. Post-Doubtfire, Fierstein's career flourished with roles in big-screen productions such as 'Independence Day' and 'Duplex', as well as the live adaptation of 'Hairspray'.

His voice has been featured in animated series including 'Family Guy' and 'Big Mouth'. A celebrated four-time Tony Award winner, Harvey has also penned stage musicals like 'Newsies', 'Kinky Boots', and 'A Catered Affair'.

In a candid interview with People two years ago, Harvey opened up about his gender identity, expressing his uncertainty: "I'm still confused as to whether I'm a man or a woman. I don't know who I am. You wanna tell me who I am? But let's put it this way ... I don't think I've missed anything by not making up my mind."
