Strictly Come Dancing star claims the wrong contestant was voted out in brutal verdict

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Natalie Cassidy has claimed Pete Wicks should have been the one to leave the show last week, rather than Welsh singer Wynne Evans.

Wynne, 52, was voted off after Montell Douglas was saved by the judges in the dance-off.

According to EastEnders star Natalie, Pete's success in the competition despite him not being the dancer, is attributable to his "loyal fan base."

She remarked: "I do think Pete should've gone before him [Wynne]," to which her co-star Joanna Page agreed.

Delving into the quality of his performances, she added: "I'm just talking now about dancing, I mean I'm not a professional dancer, but Pete knows that."

Reflecting on his astonishment to hearing his name being read out, she continued: "Did you see Pete's face? Bless his heart! He genuinely could not believe that he was still in.

"And that isn't made up, you can tell he is shocked. He's almost embarrassed to still be in it."

Joanna chimed in: "That dance, it wasn't as good as his one last week, that dance I don't think that was very good."

Natalie further observed: "Bless him, and I think he'd agree with us." The actress went on to say it's also likely that the TOWIE star received votes due to what he was wearing on the night.

Performing with his dance partner Jowita Przystal, Pete thrusted his hips as part of a raunchy Cha Cha routine to I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred.

For the theme, the reality star posed as a train inspector before dramatically removing his jacket to reveal a pink shirt and tight-fitting PVC pink trousers.

The routine earned a total of 27 out of 40 points from the judges, who had varying opinions on his performance.

Head judge Shirley Ballas described it as "very entertaining", adding that the dance would be etched in her memory forever. Motsi Mabuse confessed that she "loved it for all the wrong reasons" but wished the dancing had been better.

Craig, notoriously hard to please, remarked: "You fought the dance, un-coordinated, behind the beat, bent leg but huge fun."

This weekend, the pair will take to the dance floor once again for a Tango to Phil Collins' Easy Lover.
