Eamonn Holmes agrees big step with girlfriend Katie Alexander after Ruth Langsford split

Eamonn Holmes is set to take a big step with girlfriend Katie Alexander for Christmas, it has emerged, as he plans to spend Christmas Day with her. Eamonn, the ITV This Morning alum, split from ex Ruth Langsford back in May - stunning fans.

Now, reports say the 64-year-old will spend his first Christmas with Katie at his rented pad in Kingston, south west London - and they won't see their children, a source said. Katie, a mum-of-three aged 43, has found love with Eamonn after his break-up with Ruth.

A source said to the Mirror newspaper this weekend, with five weeks to go til Christmas: “Christmas is going to be a tough one for all concerned. Ruth will be without her husband for the first time in decades and Katie won’t see her kids on Christmas Day either.”

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the Belfast-born star, who has used a wheelchair and struggled with his health, said: “It’s been a tough year and I’ll be glad to see the back of it. But there are lots of things to be grateful for and I hope that my health improves next year.”

A source said: “Katie certainly seems to be able to put a smile back on Eamonn’s face. They seem genuinely besotted with each other. It was a big night for Eamonn and she wanted to support him.” Ruth and Eamonn won millions of fans presenting ITV’s This Morning together between 2006 and 2021.

The estranged couple have a £3.5million five-bedroom home in Weybridge, Surrey, where Ruth has remained. Eamonn has an apartment in South West London. Earlier this month, Eamonn and Katie attended The Irish Post Awards following the brutal split with his Loose Women ex-wife after 14 years.

But they appeared with a ban on posing for any red carpet pictures together.
