Martin Lewis issues major update over his TV career and says 'yes it's true'

Martin Lewis has said "yes it's true" as he is issues a major update over his TV career. The BBC Sounds podcast presenter, who has his own ITV show The Martin Lewis Money Show, spoke out on Twitter, now X, as he confirmed his TV future.

He typed: "And yes, it's true, they've just put the promo out, I'm going on the New Years (non comedians) @taskmaster special. Done the tasks, not done the studio day. Bricking it, but it should be fun!!!." Taskmaster season 18 has just wrapped up.

The finale on Thursday night saw The News Quiz host Andy Zaltzman crowned winner. Stand-up comic Jack Dee came second, with Ghosts actress Emma Sidi in third, while Celebrity Gogglebox star Babatunde Aléshé came fourth and comedian Rosie Jones in fifth.

At the end of the show, Greg Davies - the programme host - announced the Christmas line-up. Former England footballer David James MBE, academic Professor Hannah Fry, All Saints star Melanie Blatt, and actor Sue Johnston OBE will join Mr Lewis.

Mr Lewis founded the website MoneySavingExpert.com, and is currently a presenter for ITV, on the morning shows Good Morning Britain and This Morning since 2007. He also presents The Martin Lewis Money Show.

Previous big names to have appeared in New Year's episodes of the series have included Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas, popular presenter Claudia Winkleman and Olympian Mo Farah. The most recent special, which aired at the beginning of 2024 saw actor Lenny Rush beat Dragons' Den star Deborah Meaden, musician Kojey Radical, nature presenter Steve Backshall and Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball to win the top prize.

Taskmaster will return for its New Year Treat in early 2025. The show will be available to watch on both Channel 4 and also on All 4 on demand.
