Cat Deeley says she will 'walk away' from ITV This Morning for one reason

She took over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield last year

ITV This Morning's Cat Deeley has revealed she would 'walk away' from the show for one particular reason. The TV presenter and Ben Shephard took over hosting roles on the ITV show when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield stepped away last year.

Phillip quit ITV in May following an 'unwise' affair with a younger co-worker. Holly left the role in October after it emerged that stalker Gavin Plumb had plotted to kidnap, rape and murder her.

Speaking in a new interview, mum Cat told how she did not feel 'particularly vulnerable' stepping into Holly's shoes. But she said she would not hesitate to 'walk away' from This Morning if her health was at risk.

She told Grazia: "And I’d always think about my own mental health. If something was affecting me, or I hated going into work, I’d walk away. It’s more important that I enjoy what I do."

Brummie Cat - who is married to comedian Patrick Kielty - also rold how she takes little notice of trolls on social media. She said: "It’s never been a big part of my life. I don’t think it’s entirely healthy, particularly for young people.

"If you start to worry about what everybody else thinks, it breeds this inertia where you’re frightened to do anything in case you don’t get it right." When quizzed on the alleged 'toxic workplace' on This Morning set, Cat said she had not 'seen a scrap of it'.

The So You Think You Can Dance presenter added: "Well, obviously Ben and I had heard all of those stories. I can only speak as I find it, and I have no idea what happened before we were there, but I haven’t seen one scrap of it."
