BBC Saturday Kitchen fans fume at A-list star as they make same complaint
by Shivon Watson · Birmingham LiveViewers of Saturday Kitchen were left less than impressed during the recent episode when actor Luke Evans kept his hat on throughout the show.
The renowned actor, known for roles in blockbusters like The Hobbit, Beauty and the Beast, and The Girl on the Train, joined chef Matt Tebbutt on the BBC show to whip up a tasty treat while chatting about his latest book release.
Dressed smartly in a white shirt, grey cardigan, and chinos, Luke also donned a tweed flat cap for his appearance on the programme on Saturday morning (November 23).
However, his choice of headwear didn't sit well with some viewers, who took to social media platform X en masse to express their displeasure, imploring him to take off the cap while indoors at the BBC studio.
One viewer remarked: "Take your cap off or you won't feel the benefit when you go outside," reports the Express.
Another likened Luke to a character from the BBC series Peaky Blinders, commenting: "Hey Peaky Blinder wannabe! Take off your hat inside!"
A third bemused fan questioned: "Who wears a hat indoors?" While a fourth stated: "Men wearing caps indoors is one of my pet hates."
Meanwhile, another added: "Luke Evans deserves Food Hell for wearing a hat indoors. Plus, oxtail sounds much nicer than a sandwich."
Despite some negative comments regarding his fashion choice, Luke's new book, 'Luke Evans Boy From the Valleys', received positive reviews.
James queried: "And you've also done an audiobook, right? Luke expressed his enjoyment in doing the audiobook, stating on the show, "Yeah, I did the audiobook which was really fun because I didn't even have to look at the book when I was recording it because I knew it so well. So, my friends said it's just like listening to you tell a story."
Fellow guest Helen McGinn, a wine specialist, added: "Well, I read it, and I could hear you while I was reading it. "She then praised the work, remarking, "It really is an extraordinary book!"
Saturday Kitchen airs Saturdays at 10am on BBC One.
