ITV I'm A Celebrity's Alan Halsall shares daughter's heartbreaking reaction to him joining show
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveAlan Halsall has shared his daughter's heartbreaking reaction to him ditching the UK for ITV I'm A Celebrity. Halsall has opened up about how his daughter – Sienna – feels about him leaving the UK and spending the next two to three weeks in Australia without any communication.
Whilst discussing that “bland food” and small portions won’t be a problem, Halsall touched on how his daughter reacted to the news, saying: “That’s going to be really difficult. She has found the idea of me going difficult. It is only in the last two weeks or so that she has come around to the idea.
“We never spend more than two weeks apart. I am very emotional about Sienna, so it will be interesting to see how I cope. I tend to try to hide my emotions but with Sienna I’m not very good at all - I think I will have several blubs. She is 11 and so I’m hoping I won’t embarrass her.”

Tonight, the series begins with dancer Oti Mabuse and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos drinking a blended smoothie made of animal parts. The contestants are among the famous faces taking part in this year’s series of the ITV Australian-based reality show, along with Coleen Rooney, former Irish boxing champion Barry McGuigan, McFly’s Danny Jones and Coronation Street actor Alan.
Best known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, Halsall has starred in the soap since 1998, and has also appeared in series including Children’s Ward, Heartbeat, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates and Queer As Folk.
The 42-year-old said: “I am looking forward to meeting different people in camp. This is something I have always shied away from in the past. You are never going to get me on the ice, dancing isn’t my thing and this will be much harder than filming a scene in Corrie.”
