BBC The One Show viewers are threatening a boycott of the show - amid a row over "nepotism". BBC viewers were left outraged on Thursday night as Roman Kemp interviewed his famous parents Shirlie and Martin Kemp on the BBC programme – though for a very good cause.

The Celebrity Gogglebox star, who stars on the Channel 4 show with dad Martin, was seen interviewing them for a good cause. Shirlie and Martin made an appearance on The One Show to talk about their stint on a Children In Need special of Interior Design Masters.

But fans couldn't helo compare it to Ed Balls interviewing his wife, a Labour Party MP, on ITV Good Morning Britain. One Twitter/X user sniped: "Feel like #TheOneShow should get the same Ofcom complaints # GMB did with Roman interviewing his parents...

"like Ed interviewing his wife... the nepotism is real." A second fumed: "Nepo Baby gets to interview parents. Wow, great television." Another laughed on social media: "All we're missing is Gary and we've got the full set of Kemps. Jesus. This is just wrong."

Another raged: "Tonight on #TheOneShow, nepo kid Roman Kemp interviews his parents Martin and Shirlie at his workplace." While another typed: "@BBCTheOneShow, what's this tonight, 'Bring Your Parents To Work' Day."

In the special edition of Interior Design Masters, produced by DSP (a Banijay UK company), six of Britain’s favourite famous faces will be donning overalls, clambering up ladders and cracking open paint cans as they compete to create the best makeovers – all for a very good cause.

Darren Harriott, Joanne McNally, Jon Richardson, Leomie Anderson, Martin Kemp, and Shirlie Kemp will compete to create the best makeovers – all for a very good cause. The pair said: “We are honoured to have been part of an incredible collaboration between Interior Design Masters and Children in Need, working on a project for such an important, but often forgotten, cause. We had an absolute blast making over the space and are excited for everyone to see what we designed!”
