Matthew Byars has tragically passed away aged 37. The talent manager became familiar to fans in the Bravo reality TV show The Real Housewives of Potomac's third season after being introduced by cast member Karen Huger.

Best friend and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga released a poignant message in response to his death. Gorga expressed: "Matt - Why didn't you tell me Matt? I'm heartbroken. Your personality was infectious. Your jokes - you always had them.

"You should have done stand up - I know it was your dream. My heart hurts Matt. Because earlier this week you didn't tell me. I know life was tough - I know - Thank you for bringing me my very 1st performance of 'ON DISPLAY' - you and I - WE ARE LOYAL.

"They don't make them like us. I wish I could have saved you. Thank you for the memories. Go fly - Go make them laugh."

Fellow Potomac housewife Charrisse Jackson-Jordan also paid tribute, posting an image with Matthew and captioning it: "Rest in Peace.", reports the Mirror.

Matt's appearance on the popular programme saw him at the centre of an event dubbed Karen Huger's infamous "press conference", during which she sought to quash rumours around her financial status. In a 2019 interview, Karen reflected on their long-standing relationship, sharing that she first met Matthew when he was just a teen and how she gave him guidance, earning her the affectionate nickname 'Mama Karen' amongst the locals.

Karen described their bond as one of "true friends" and referred to him as "like family". In a bid to clear up the confusion among her co-stars on The Real Housewives of Potomac about his identity, she brought Matthew onto the show.

Ashley Darby even admitted she initially thought he was Karen's legal counsel. Matthew went on to make appearances in several more episodes of the series.

A heartfelt tribute came from Shahs of Sunset star Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi, who penned: "Noooo! I've known Matt since the beginning of being on TV as well. I did all my bookings around the nation together with him. What an amazing soul and kind human! " While Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Rachel Fuda expressed: "Such a deep loss. So sorry Melis. May he rest in peace and never be forgotten."

Digital influencer Peter Panos remarked: "He was such a sweet human being." A social media enthusiast commented: "He was such a good guy, just heartbreaking. I wish I had known as well."

Meanwhile, someone else posted: "Beyond devastating," and another added: "I have such fun memories of him when we all worked together." One individual noted: "He was the nicest and kindest. One of the best! " which was followed by a comment saying: "This breaks my heart even tho I didn't know him."
