This Morning's Alison Hammond has revealed her eagerness to become a grandmother. The popular TV presenter, alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary, was celebrating World Smile Day on the show.

They invited viewers to share heartwarming stories about what makes them smile. A viewer named Brenda called in to express how her granddaughter brings her immense joy.

"We always have a lovely wee cup of tea or coffee waiting for her," Brenda shared. Alison responded: "She's getting independent now and she's just growing up," with Dermot adding that her family have helped her become more independent.

When asked about the difference between children and grandchildren, Brenda humorously replied: "Your own children are a bit of a nuisance but when you have your grandchildren, you can love them and take them and then you can hand them back! " Alison then confessed: "I can't wait for it to happen to me."

The presenter is a mother to 19 year old son, Aiden, and earlier this year, she disclosed that she charges him rent for living at home, reports the Mirror.

Alison shared a light-hearted moment on the Parenting Hell podcast, revealing her son's contribution to household expenses: "It's brilliant, I've gone to a new level. Wait for it... he's paying rent. I mean, it's not a lot of rent, I'll be honest with you," she told hosts Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe.

She expressed her delight in receiving the money, saying, "I actually love getting a little bit of cash from him. Like, he gives it to me every month, that £40 - I absolutely love it. I go and get my eyebrows done, I go and get my nails done, and I pay in cash - perfect. It's a nice base to begin, and it's regular. He's okay paying it. I thought he'd be a bit funny about it."

Hammond also discussed her son Aiden's aspirations to become a DJ (Image: ITV)

Hammond also discussed her son Aiden's aspirations to become a DJ, encouraging him to pursue his passion: "DJing was always his passion. So I said, 'You know what, in life, you should do something where you love it. Something you would do for free, that becomes your passion and then that's how you work. And you'll never work a day in your life really, because you're doing something you love," she explained.

Meanwhile, Alison and Dermot continue to host This Morning each Friday, while Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley take over from Monday to Thursday.
