BBC Strictly Come Dancing pro set to quit show after insisting decision is 'not personal'

BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans are convinced ANOTHER star will quit the show at the end of this series. BBC viewers are concerned Carlos Gu could call it quits after the Strictly Come Dancing favourite was left without a partner for 2024.

The Chinese dancer and choreographer danced with Molly Rainford in 2022 but the professional dancer has not been given a celebrity this year. Last year, Carlos achieved success with TV presenter Angela Scanlon - despite not making it to the final.

Taking to Reddit, one social media user said: "The one who seems really p***ed off/upset is Carlos. Carlos has made numerous posts/stories about it. He posted the other day an excerpt from an interview with Aimee Fuller where he talked about his disappointment.

"He just said he was disappointed because you get yourself ready for the season and there’s all this excitement and anticipation, then nothing. he said he’s been so lucky to have his previous partners and that Strictly is his dream job so I don’t think he’s being salty, more passionate.

A second posted: "Carlos might leave the next series, he should have had a partner this year." A third said: "I was gutted when Carlos didn't get a celebrity this time, he's my favourite. He might leave next year if the same happens."

Speaking to Aimee Fuller on her Monday Mile podcast last month, Carlos said: “I'm still a part of the shows. I'm still doing the music act. I'm still doing some of the group numbers. If you are not in the competition, you have more free time, I think I'm just using my time wisely.

"We're going to go husband hunting, you know, we're going to improve our skills and learning." He added: "When the season starts, when you're busy, your mind is literally on fire and twirling. You never really have the opportunity to really relax. I think I really need that this year. I think this is a good opportunity for me to be doing that, because through that I can learn something about myself that I didn't know before."

He said the decision was "not necessarily personal" and Carlos said: "Sometimes the decision is made [and it’s] not necessarily personal. It’s just because of the different perspectives, the different teams. Because we all want the show to look great. We all want this company, this production to look good.

"So, nothing is really personal. I think as long as you start to understand that, some of the decisions aren’t personal to you.”
